Hi my name is Rich and I’m just a guy who loves BBQ. Been grilling since the age of 10 with my dad, cooking beside my mom growing up, and worked in restaurants through college. I use the handle KCQ since my roots are in Kansas City style BBQ (best in the world…. I know, Texas brisket, Memphis style, I get it). Everyone has their favorite, but in my opinion if its cooked on a grill, its the best. Less is more, and the simpler the better. My new favorite seasonings are S&P, Rockwood lump, and some great aromatic wood smoke. If you cook quality food on a quality Q’s, then there’s no need for all the extras.
Everyday I feel like I’m the luckiest guy in the world. I have a beautiful wife, 3 great adult kids, 2 expensive but cool cats, a dog, and a grand puppy. I recently got into the kamado style cooking with my first Big Green Egg, and have several Weber kettles and smokers. Add in the pizza and wok tools, and you have virtually no reason NOT to cook in the great outdoors.
People keep asking me about my cooks, and wanting to see pictures and the details, so I decided to give this a try. I also have gained some incredible insight and ideas from others “on the line”, so want to pay them respect and due credit.
